Gaining additional capacity for innovation and establishing connections with the University of Zurich's extensive network of researchers, students, and the broader innovation ecosystem.
Strengthened connections with the University of Zurich
Reputational benefits thanks to exposure opportunities, including social media exposure on UZH channels, company logo on event material/opening slide at final presentation and the possibility to present a small booth or bring branded giveaways.
In 2 days of teaching sessions, students learn about recent developments, challenges, and opportunities in relevant fields (e.g., legal, social, ethical, economic) from lecturers from various fields.
Subsequently, student teams address challenges related to the digitalization of mobility posed by practice partners. There are three partners in total, with one challenge each. Several student teams are working on each challenge. In a design sprint process, students work in interdisciplinary groups on the challenges for several days, including an Innovathon-Weekend. They are equipped with a design sprint manual and guided by professional innovation coaches.
In the course, students develop their ability to work in transdisciplinary teams, gain innovation methods and critical-thinking competence, and improve their effective presentation and communication skills.
Who were the previous Partners?
We understand the topic "digitalization of mobility" broadly, embracing not only transportation and logistics but also, e.g., maintaining personal mobility in old age or during physical limitations, systems mobility, mobile health care systems, and more.
As challenge partners, we have collaborated with IKEA, TCS, Siemens, Accenture, Amag and CSEM. In addition, SBB and Mobility have already participated several times.
As hosting partners who provide inspiring surroundings for creative work, we have been working with Google and Ginetta in previous years
